Silkscreening is a great way to get your logo on your clothing or create a unique piece of art. After you receive your custom silkscreen, the rest of the materials are generally affordable and easy to find at any art supply store. We recommend Colorhue dyes for silk clothing and Lumiere or Neopaque paints for just about everything else. You can even mix Colorhue dye with Lumiere paint to get a unique glittery look.
When using the silkscreens with fabric or clothing we've found blue painters tape (available at hardware stores and some variety stores) to be the best way to hold the silkscreen in place without damaging the silkscreen or the fabric. Keep a rectangular pan filled with water nearby to put the silkscreen in to prevent the pores from clogging with paint. The silkscreens can be cleaned with diluted Simple Green.
Try using your silkscreens with spray paint, etching paste, textile paint, oil based paints, ceramic paint, ceramic glazes, enamels and tube acrylic paints to print on:
Sizes:
Choose from letter size (8 x 10 inches image area) or half size (5 x 8 inches image area). The page size is 8.5 x 11 inches or 5.5 x 8.5 inches.
Preparing the artwork:
With silkscreening there are no grays, only black or white. So, if your artwork contains any gray areas, they will need to be changed to either black or white.
Depending on how much time is involved, the price can fluctuate quite a bit. Also, any very fine lines will need to be thickened to work in the silkscreen.
