You can install and use Kaleidoscope Kreator 2.0 on computers running Windows Vista, provided that you take some steps during the installation to accommodate Vista's enhanced security features:
Before you install
To install Kaleidoscope Kreator on Windows Vista, you'll need either a user account with administrator privileges, or the password for such an account. To find out what kind of account you have, click on "User Accounts" from the Control Panel.
Performing the install
During installation (from either the Kaleidoscope Kreator 2.0 CD or the downloaded setup utility), Windows Vista will ask your permission to proceed. If you are installing from a "Standard user" account, you will need to provide an administrator password.
When you reach the final installation screen titled "InstallShield Wizard Completed", make sure the "Launch the program" checkbox is marked before clicking on the Finish button.
Next, when Kaleidoscope Kreator prompts you for a name and license key, enter the values from the label in your CD case or from your download instructions e-mail.
After following the above steps, you should be able to run Kaleidoscope Kreator 2.0 as you would normally on Windows XP.
